Champions league draw

Well, Man United got the easy route to the quarter finals. Now we are going to see what they are really made of. I'm not hopeful for them, but I would like to see them win it again. It's always good for the English game when one of the English teams wins the Champions League :D I thought it was more likely to be Arsenal but they underperformed big time.

Real Madrid are still my favourites to win it, but I will be happy for Man United to prove me wrong :)
 
Storum, if u watch La liga u can see R.Madrid have got better and better and are winning games consistantly. Even in the champions league they have hit form again. They arent at their best and are through and top of the table of la liga, that says a lot about how very good they are. They are the kind of team made for the big matches and they usually perform

I wouldnt mind if man utd got through but tbh id be lying if i thought u will get through, if u do there is a good chance u will get to the final and it would be too close to call between AC and man utd if u both got through.

United will be away to the Spanish giants - nine-times winners of the competition - in the first leg of the double header, on April 8/9, with the return taking place at Old Trafford on April 22/23.

yep, and then in the next 30 mins, utd scored twice and were attacking very hard. they needed another 30 mins to score another 2 goals.

i think its 50/50 as to who will go through. if they had met in the final i wouldve said it would be 80/20 in Real's favour. i would rather play Real in the quarters than in the final, over one game.

im just hoping that Juan Sebastian Veron is fully recovered for both these games cuz this is just the sort of game that will suit him. and for the first time in a long time, RvN is gonna get to play a full 180 mins over 2 Champions league games. lets see if he can score 4 goals over the 180 mins. now is the time that i thank the lord we have someone of the calibre of RvN.

man utd huffed and puffed and a superb goal by beckham and a 87min penalty iirc. My point was if they were able to produce such a good display then u have to wonder what they are capable of now :)

If man utd dont win the home game by at least 2 goal imo they will find it tough staying in, man utd cannot afford to go to the Bernabau to win, drawing is hard enough but winning is gonna be real real difficult.

My prediction would be:

at OT man u win 2-1
at bernabau man u loose 2-0
 
hey come on.

man utd have one of (if not the) best defences in EU. it wont be easy for Real to score. unless man utd get sloppy in the first 10 mins and concede a goal in each game, which is quite possible. in fact conceding early goals is man utd's weakness in europe.
 
hmmmm my predictions look ok to me =/ i do think u will beat them at old trafford but loose at the bernabau. Im not saying ur definitely out but imo i think R.Madrid will go through, tbh i wouldnt be suprised if man u went through but i doubt it.

Also in the opinion of many Valencia have the best defense in europe and Real beat them 4-1 :eek: Zidane produced an absoultely stunning performance and they were ripping Valencia apart at times.

of course if they can win the league and CL, then great, but if they win one, i would rather they win the league. its very important that arsenal are not allowed to win the league in successive seasons. if this happens, then there will be no doubt about who the best team in england is. if man utd can win the league and at least make the quarters of the cl, then, man utd can still lay claim to being the best in england. if they win the cl but lose the league, then arsenal can quite rightfully claim to be the best in england.

IMO, it'll be tight, we should be able to get a result at OT and then scrape a draw or a narrow win over there. But if we do beat them, we've good as won it, as I agree with most others, Real are definetly the team to beat this year.

Must say though, all the games look like crackers to me, quite evenly matched, should all be good to watch..

man utd actually have one of the best defences this season. the only time they concede is when they play their youngersters and they wont be doing that in the quarterfinals.

Its a good job we WONT have to go to the bernabau first then isnt it.
As the second leg is at old Trafford.
So they that situation you described wont happen.
As its already been said that the the first leg is away.
