Bayern Munich v AC Milan
Benfica v Liverpool
PSV v Lyon
Real Madrid v Arsenal

Wednesday, 22 February 2006

Ajax v Inter Milan
Chelsea v Barcelona
Rangers v Villarreal
Werder Bremen v Juventus

So the Arsenal squad:

Jens Lehmann
Manuel Almunia

Philippe Senderos
Emmanuel Eboue
Kolo Toure
Johan Djourou

Abou Diaby
Robert Pires
Freddie Ljungberg
Jose Antonio Reyes
Alexander Hleb
Cesc Fabregas
Mathieu Flamini
Alexandre Song
Gilberto
Sebastian Larsson (will only play in defence)

Theo Walcott
Thierry Henry

So thats a strong squad, only 2 strikers (one who has only played for the AFC reserves twice(including a closed doors friendly))! and 4 fit defenders, one of which hasn't played in Europe. 3 of the Midfielders have yet to start a European game for the club, and quite frankly one of them is worse than his Uncle Rigobert if thats possible! So thats at least 7 of the first team squad out

Reckon a win is on the cards :D Gotta think positive.

We could have a chance if we can keep it to 1-0, or a draw. Cole, RvP, and a few others could be back for the return leg which could be a vast help imo.

RvP would have shown his true class over at Real, such a shame he isn't fit :(

Arsenal will get a goal at Madrid but how many will Rmadrid get that the question and We will Win away against Benfica and i hope Roman team really gets a footballing lesson from Ronaldinho and Co COME ON BARCA i would just love to see MRarrogant face again when he get kicked out them kind of things are just priceless

lol anti Chelsea perhaps Digga?

Im personally confident, its the two best teams in Europe going up against each other and it will be a great contest. It will be down to who defends better i think, and we are much stronger there, im just hoping we are on form in attack and Drogba is allowed nowhere near the pitch.

I watched Barca the other night again Real Betis. Although they won 5-1, they didn't look too good at the back. Betis could have had 5 goals themselves if it wasn't for the keeper.

Robben and Cole are key players for you. I can see them causing Barca problems with through balls to Crespo and probably Robben himself.

On the other match, i can see Beckham causing chaos in the Arsenal defense. Left back is a massive problem for Arsenal and Beckham's whipped in crosses will be a problem (hopefully).

The best team in Europe is Liverpool True blue and that fact ;)

I really can't wait for Real Madrid game. I know I should be worried about our lack of players and the form of others, yet I can't help but feel strangely confident for no good reason. We'll probably get thrashed by them, and it seems highly likely, but I just can't seem to convince myself of that.

Real Madrid, come on! :D

As much as i want to see Arsenal do one over Madrid, going to be a tough decision on what game to watch. Don't like constantly swapping channels :(

I think the 5-1 win for Barca on the weekend rather flattered them. They didn't play all that well, and like the commentators correctly put it, just too cavalier. It was just way too open, Betis could have easily scored a few more if it hadn't been for Valdes. I'm worried for Barca, hope they get their cards right on the night.

Are you talking about the Arsenal and Chelsea matches? If so, they're on different nights so you'll be ok! :)

Nah Milan game is on the same night as the Arsenal. I think I'll end up watching the Milan game. SP2 has a wonderful extended highlights programme of all the games which I always look forward to. :)

Looking forward to the Arsenal game , I cant watch Chelsea as Newcastle take on Charlton on Wednesday night in the rearranged fixture that was scandalously postponed over christmas.
Thats what you get for voting Liberal Democrat.

Babayaro serves the final game of his suspension , Owen back in training but still out , future England captain Steven Taylor "Sounessed" and wont feature again this season.
Meanwhile the man who no-one knows what he looks like is still sidelined (Craig Moore).
Shearer may have recovered from his calf strain and if fit will play , providing he is selected , of course :p

Team and fans both full of confidence and Im fully expecting a home win.

So is Walcott really likely to get a chance against Real Madrid?

His pace could really do some damage if he played down the middle. Wouldn't be so effective against Carlos though :p

REALLY looking forward to these Champions League games. I love the competition!! :D

Can't wait for the Real-Arsenal game!!
Like people above have said, should have no logic in being confident but some how I do!! Just gonna be a cracker I hope -

BUT I have to find a bar/whatever that opens at 6:45am with Sky tv !!! :o unlikely! hopefully they will show it 'delayed' later on in the day :( Doesnt help being abroad at the moment - dam!!

Walcott will feature at some point. Wenger has said. I very much doubt he will start. With the team we have it will be a 4-5-1. The law of averages say we will play well with 4-5-1 eventually...

Edit, Just for Vandle here's Craig Moore :p
