I hope there are no death threats made to this referee either, what are the odds on him retiring in a few weeks time?

Classy fans

Was the ref that bad? Del Horno was unlucky with the red, but could have been booked on more than one occasion, and he failed to give 1 certain penalty (heck he had his whistle to his mouth!) and perhaps another one to Barca.

Not seen those Del Horno challenges before, first was a straight red in my eyes, studs up into the knee. Lucky he didnt get his leg broken. Second one deserved at least a yellow if the ref was lenient. The ball was rolling along the floor absolutely nowhere near the player and Del Horno jumps right into him. Don't see what Mourinho is moaning about, really dont like that man.

Obviously I don't condone the silly death threats, but any ref who makes the comments he made before the game, then proceeds to wave & 'share banter' with away fans right under the noses of home fans, then send off a home player in a disputed incident is going to attract the attention of idiots, at any ground:(

have you got any links of him doing this m8

Del Horno has had his ban reduced to 1 game from 3 by a UEFA disciplinary committee. That's as near to them saying it shouldn't of been a sending off as it can get considering their unfair retrospective policies.

Pretty shocking really considering the earlier tackle as shown in http://home20.inet.tele.dk/arsenalclips6/DHorno.gif , which was a definite straight red violent conduct card = 3 game ban. I'm amazed UEFA has reduced the ban, I was half expecting it to get increased on account of Chelsea's appeal.

But the straight red is for the second challenge, so although he does deserve to be sent off over both challenges, he doesnt really deserve a straight red for the second challenge when you watch it back, which is what they're looking at.
