Championship Manager 2010 for a penny

I wish they'd do this sort of pay what you want promotion on a decent game that people want like Modern Warfare 2, as it would be interesting to see how many people will actually pay for something that is (highly likely to be) very good and worth paying for.

Clearly no one of sound mind is going to elect to pay more than £2.51 for Champ Man but I fear that others will turn this around to show that no one wants to pay for games full stop (here we come piracy debate), when in reality it's just because the game is probably going to be crud.

Mate they wouldn't do that for a top selling game like Call of Duty as they wouldn't need too. CM clearly do need to do this gimmick to attract new players..

I know they wouldn't, which is what's annoying as that's the only sort of game that would give a true representation of whether people will voluntarily pay a reasonable price even though they don't have to.

With rubbish like this though everyone will just take advantage because they don't actually really want the game at all. Its just annoying in that it creates skewed statistics on the habits of people's willingness to pay for something.

Its got DRM but for £2.51, i cant really argue i suppose.

agreed, the engine and animations are better than fifa 2010 !!

it looks all polished and shiny, the ingame training and set piece stuff is a nice touch .. so far so good

ill give it a few hours then give rating

I've just received my notification and am downloading as we speak...if anyone has played a bit of this let me know your thoughts as I've never played this game before... :D

Downloaded and installed, not played it yet but for £2.51 i don't care even if i play it once and don't like it :p

its great fun, ive always been a FM player and never thought CM was good enough, although i havent bothered much with the last two FM's as they just seemed to be the same churn with new stats etc etc

no doubt FM will sell more and will probably be the better of the two, but this is great for £2.51 and i'll say again the training/set pieces have kept me tinkering for hours !!

Good to see that this isn't a total waste of money :)

Just started it downloading now, so will probably pause it and finish it tomorrow. Looking forward to having a go though. Will be interesting to see how it stacks up to last year's FM.

yeah I've been doing the same. Played a friendly and was played all over the shop by the opposition but as soon as I did some tactic moves and told players what they need to do they won their second friendly 2-0. Quite impressed I must say. Certainly makes a change to FIFA Manager which I've been playing since the early days of FA Premier League Manager 2000. :D

My brother got up at 3am on Tuesday (i think) to download it as soon as it was released and had a hissy fit because the servers kept crashing and he had to wait till Wedensday! It was funny, i guess you had to be there :D

lol...he'll do well to wait for an email notification like I did...which allowed me to have such high download speeds :D

Getting 18 k/second. This is going to take 14 hours :(

Is there anywhere to legally download it from aside from the Eidos website? I've already bought it and have the key...
