Championship Playoff Final - Notts Forest vs Huddlesfield **Spoilers** [Sunday 29th May]

Ridiculous penalty decisions, not sure what the point of VAR is if it can't give them! Huddersfield must be gutted with how they have been denied a penalty.

Also wanted Forest to win but those are two very clear penalties, tainted promotion
maybe if you blind. ref instantly gave the yellow as the guy was looking for a penalty and watched the leg then stuck his toe in..well done forest better team won. going to be mental here tonight. :D

Agree. Forget Pep, Klopp or anyone else, Cooper is the real MVP this season.

He didn't even get the Championship Manager of the season :p

To be fair the whole bottom of the Champ thing, they were 6 points off the play offs even in that position, the quality of that league had diminished in the past few seasons, some decent loans, 5 at the back and you will be flying, like Forest did.

The game today was terrible, it's such a shame finals are turning into such a bore fest, you should be penalised for such negative football.

You reds :)

A fantastic day.

Huddersfield had nothing and brought nothing apart from a bronze medal Olympic diver.

Already have the first one the ref called it bang on. Dive dive dive... The second was 50/50. But it's semantics, even if Huddersfield was given the first one, they would have still lost as today they was just not good enough same as Forrest was not good enough against Sheffield apart from an amazing keeper on the night.

They were 9 points off when Cooper took over and they ended up 10 points clear of 7th.

Forest were on 4 points from 8 games compared to the play off teams already on 13 points. That's a massive turn around, Forest were an absolute shambles at the start of the season. Think you need to give Cooper a lot more credit than that. It's not just closing the gap it's changing around the fortunes of a team that couldn't buy a win to consistently winning. He's done an incredible job.

It's hardly just 'loans and 5 at the back'.....

Are you joking?

50/50? behave.

Lmao. Gone down easily but a yellow? LMAO Forest are very very lucky. Both penalties.

Exactly, they were a shambles with a decent squad, so any decent gaffer coming in was always going to get them up there. Cooper has done a brilliant job doing that, but its just this whole they were bottom etc etc, Luton were in the play offs for goodness sake, even Huddersfield who only signed free transfers got in there, the league is not good quality at all.
Forest's recruitment was really good, they weren't great to watch but effective, a bit like Cooper's Swansea. They will need to sign some decent PL players now now and push on, be interesting to see if they can persuade the clubs to loan them Davis, Garner etc, Spence I imagine will go to a better club although I don't see the massive appeal with him yet, especially seeing so much of him at Boro.

And yes those were both stonewall pens. There is an interesting stat about Moss, Huddersfield have never won a game with him reffing, and shock, Forest have never lost :p

They were both trying to buy a penalty imo. First one he stuck his leg out to get in front and second one was a clear dive trying to get his legs caught. Forest were also clearly the better team that day but once they got the goal they did try and hang on to it which is never a good thing but could understand the nerves with everything that was at stake and not being in the prem for 23 years.

Id much rather have a team like Forest back in the Prem than Huddersfield who will just be in it for the money like a Norwich or Burnley. Forests owner also owns Olympiacos who are in the Champions League often. I would have thought playing good football would be at the front of his mind like Leeds.

Forest had a +33 goal difference to Huddersfield +17. If it wasn't for the bad start Forest had under Hughton they would have more than likely got 2nd place anyway.

As a Forest fan, I think we can thank the gods that at least one of those wasn't given.

The first, I agree that if he hadn't done the whole flicking the leg back in a second movement and making a meal of it, it would have been easier to give a penalty, but in real time it looked like a dive.
