Change A64 Multiplier in windows

Hey all, how do I do it ? Im building a PC for a friend using ECS Nforce4 PCI-E Mainboard, the FSB seems to be good to 250mhz, BUT everything I push it up the board just drops the A64 3000+ Multiplier to make it run at as close to 1.81ghz as it can - ANNOYING !

So is there something in windows I can get to force it back to 9x ? Or is there away around the board to make it use 9x ? Iv already disabled cool and quiet

Can you not lock the multiplier by manually setting it? If not, then you will need a custom BIOS. Which motherboard is it?

no doesnt seem to let me, its a ECS Nforce4 A939 version 1.0, I find it odd it wont let me lock the multiplier as for a budget board its got plenty of other options on it, vcore adjust, mem lock, mem volts, etc

well been doing some digging, set the ram fsb to 200, works, increased it to 202, the ram reads as 202.5 in cpuz, but the multi is still at 8.5 ? and reading 1811mhz random, seems to be increasing ram speed but not cpu fsb, how can it be 1811 at 8.5x, its all weird

EDIT: at all default cpuz and windows always reads 1.81 ghz, and a fsb of 213.5 mhz

You havnt got the cpu multi set to 'auto' have you?

And clockgen should let you, so does cbid i think

No, its not in the bios, clockgen -appears- to be working, anyway of forcing a certain clock in windows on boot ?

the board seems to be forcing 8.5x, pc wizard says multi is 8.5 (obviously) initial is 9
