Change in posting style

I always thought your posts were a little terse and abrasive, especially for a mod, best of luck with your new style.

I rather enjoyed your no BS approach to peoples cars, and more often than not i agree. Like when people spend £20,000 on a small hatchback (exaggeration i know, but illustrates a point) and think they have a good deal. And i must say you have changed my views on car's which are not worth X amount and you can get so much more from another car costing less.

Maybe I'll have to find a more polite way of pointing this out in future rather than being rude about it.

Why don't you just stay as you are and ignore the trolls, i didn't get fox's posting style till i met him a few times.......

I hated it before i met him...

Now i hate it even more :p

Honesty in posting styles.... people dont like it...
I think its sad that you think you have to change your style to fit in with an internet forum.
Personally I think you should rise above people that dont like your 'style' and continue posting in the 'style' that 99% of the regulars here understand, and probably like.

Agree completely, I was reading posts on these forums (especially motors) well before I started posting myself, and got used to the different styles by different members.

Your style I particularly liked, as you made your point and stuck to it rather than sway due to others differing opinions to yours.

Yes your style is very direct and to the point, but often that is very refreshing.

Changing tack slightly from the original post, does this mean we have to find a new chief for the "OCUK Thread Investigation Team " ;) ;)

Without expressing yourself fully, and by that I mean both positive and negative views, you're not the [TW]Fox we know. And this is not some advert sponsored self adoration club where you have an obligation to pee your pants for every Corsa or keep your keyboard shut. OCUK motoring section should never become such forum and you shouldn't try to moderate yourself just because few novice forumites go out of their ways to see you as just another arogant beemer driver. You have your place here, your adversaries and your followers. Thanks to who you are. If they don't get you it's their loss. Don't pretend to be someone else for anyone. I'm sure when go out of reasonable boundries your fellow old posters will bump you back to earth without hesitation. Who cares about primadona newbie hitmen.

Now, let's say it together... "Vectras are pants".

Well it wont last, you cant change, sell that rubbish car and buy a nice sensible Jap saloon and I might believe you. ;)

But seriously don't change, you are what you are, there's too much correctness in this world and not enough straight talking. :(

Just dont get too upset when people react.

Disclaimers should be put on all threads to allow fox bashing :D thats if some members can take the odd negative view about certain cars.

Sorry to hear it to be honest as fox is certainly a character around here and its a shame that some people seem to jump on him a little too easily, especially having met him and spoken to him a fair bit on the hampshire meet and my view changing just over that day. even though he is a dangerous caravan overtaking child killer :D

cba reading all the replies tbh.

you are fool for posting this and believing that you need to change so drastically.

You built your profile and respect on here by the way you post your opinions straight to the point and direct. You probably earned your Underboss status as a result of that.

I think it would be remise of you to change the way you post for the sake of other people's opinions, but it's your call at the end of the day.

For the record, I think 99% of the opinions you post are pretty much dead on and the problem is that people can't take the truth, they don;t like being told that they've wasted their money on a brand new Astra or the like. Sod 'em I say :p

Awww, but some of the bitching matches were just enjoyable to read.

Anyways, you shouldnt have to adapt to please others, its good to have both good and bad advice, even if people dont want to hear the bad.

ok so i decided to read some replies....

being a mod doesnt mean that you have to post a certain way, just post within the rules and be the right person for the job. its a good job all the mods / underbosses post differently, if they didnt, it would be easier to just automate it all.

Well perhaps I don't need a complete change then, but I do think I could probably manage a lot of what I post without being quite so.... arrogant about it. It gives off the wrong impression, many people have commented I think I am always right - I don't, but I guess it doesnt come across that way..

Whoops, I feel that my last thread maybe a bit to blame.

Fox, each to their own, you have your opinion and at least you are not afraid to say it and enforce it :-)

A rare thing in this day and age!
