Change PS3 HDD Help

i have a 120gb slim and was wondering the process that i need to take to change the HDD. im looking at keeping my saves and trophies, is that possible?



please can someone point me in the right direction for a detailed guide as i know how to swap the drive but what about loading on the ps3 software and updates, thats the bit im not sure about.

One note I would like to make is that I needed to have the firmware on a USB stick/external drive as it isn''t stored on the PS3 anymore.

Settings – System Settings – Backup Utility – Backup

The duration of this process will depend on the amount of data on the ps3.
