I have a 37" lcd which I have connected to my pc using DVI-HDMI cable and its displaying the resolution 720*480. This is the only resolution it will have available in the settings however I know the screen is capable of higher because I flicked through and it said it was capable of 1280*720. Any idea how I can get XP to change to this resolution?

Thanks

I'm using a Mac Mini with DVI out. I have downloaded powerstrip and have managed to tinker about with the resolutions but it's not perfect. Selecting some resolutions, even if its 800x600 just comes up in a fuzzy distorted mess on the tv. However resolutions with 720 pixels wide seem to be showing promising results, however I need the screen to have closer to 800 pixels wide because of certain software that needs to be displayed on it.

Is there such thing as custom resolutions?
