change $ to £ on US keyboard

is there a simple way on a US keyboard to just change the $ to a £,

ive seen the microsoft key remap OEM utility where you have to remap every key but is there a simple one off reg hack / change to make a $ £ ? is seems like it should be a simple reg tweak but my google skills are failing me..

That's the one I tried as well but with a US keyboard it does not offer a £ as a remap option ... Maybe I'm missing something?

Can't you just change the keyboard type in Windows to UK English?
