I just sold my trusty Mk3 Golf GTi 16v after 4 years of use. Great car, decent performance (150bhp) and very reliable.

It was also my birthday last Saturday and on Sunday I picked up an Audi S3! :)

Best birthday present ever! This one is in Nogaro Blue and is the 225 bhp version with full Recaro leather interior. This is the first turbo car I have ever owned and I am well pleased with it.

The only let down is the Audi Symphony sound system - it just sounds a bit flat but I sure it just needs setting up correctly.

Are there any other S3 owners here?

Lovely car, nice choice. Can only really comment on the engine and the interior (as mine are the same), but I still love mine to bits, and i'm sure you'll get a lot of fun out of it!

Get yourself a decent headunit and it really does transform the sound in the car (standard headunit is shocking).

You got any plans to modify the car?

Well I have a years Audi warranty on the car so no mods as yet.

I have read that they do mod well though. Maybe next year but I am very happy with its current performance.

About the head unit - is it hard to change as its the one with a tape and 6 cd loader.

It really isn't hard, it just involves losing the built in changer (and the tape, but like you'd care :p). You just need a facia adapter, and then the world is your oyster as you can use "normal" single DIN units.

I may have a look at that when I get some time - thanks

Double din or din and a half?

Double-din in height, but wider. You have to remove the ash-tray/12v socket assembly, lower (and also trim) the climate module, and then place the RSE system where the stereo/climate was. The RSE module also requires reshaping too.

Looks awesome when done, but its a PITA to do.

REVO? Pah.... Jabbasport. :p

REVO > Jabbasport maps without a doubt.

Was just thinking if you want the screen and sat nav aftermarket sounds like its easier to fit better featured but won't look quite as good.

That really does sound like a PAIN!

It IS the audio system as well :)
Indeed. The screen slides down to reveal two SD card slots which you load with MP3s. The DVD drive for the nav disc is also there which will play standard CDs although by doing so you'll lose the nav functionality. It also supports an external CD changer.

That site is a goldmine of info if you're looking at such a conversion.
