Changes to BleachBit?

I currently use BleachBit version 3.2.0.
I stopped using CCleaner some time ago because I am not entirely happy with it.
BleachBit has been upgraded to version 4.0.0.

I do wonder whether BleachBit has been "approached" by major software developers (who make money out of data harvesting) and asked to "tone down" some of its cleaning.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what has changed and why?
Is the use of BleachBit still supported by the community?

The BleachBit changelog for v4.0.0 is here. If anything it appears to clean more now than it used to.

Perhaps you could give us a little more info? What d'you think that BleachBit is now not cleaning?

Thanks, I would (when I was awake) have looked for that - but thanks ;)

I don't know, which is why I asked, on the off- chance that someone else might be able to offer some informed advice - so thanks again ;)

+1

I use the portable version of BleachBit and haven't noticed any signs of cleaning being toned down - if anything, it's more effective.

On what basis do you think that BleachBit have been approached by a major software developer?

Check your settings for what is to be cleared as a couple of years back a linux version update unticked a lot of boxes where paths had changed and i had enable them again , not sure if this could happen with the windows version but it's worth a look.

Not sure if it's the same for windows as i've only used the linux version but for linux there is Admin clean and a limited user clean?
