changing backgrounds on photos?

Dont suppose anyone can tell me how to do this. ive looked at loads of tutorials but i cant seem to find one that matches my version of photoshop (photoshop elements 2.0). ive tried and failed.

gotta make some staff photos appear on a bluey whitey background.

i get all the good jobs at work :rolleyes:

You would have to cut out what you want from the original photo, and then put it on top of another image with your desired background.

I have never used elements so I don't know what the different tools are so I can't suggest anything specific.

well in normal Photoshop you'd use the marquee to cut out the person. You'd then fill the background with the desired colour - havent used Elements though.

tbh the Pen Tool or Quick Mask are better ways of cutting something out.

The Pen Tool is quickest but not an easy tool to use. If elements has it, there is also the Extract found under Filters.
