changing Engine Oil

Exactly lots of the VW's have a two stage oil light indicator with an on screen warning for low oil pressure / low oil level, the level reader is in the bottom of the sump, pressure sensor is someplace else.

..and two modes for yellow. It's just that ******* amazing! Shame the sense likes to break itself.

Yep, mine is lunched. Its being replaced during it's next oil service (unfortunately it broke after the last oil change, and there was no way in hell I was dropping the sump after changing the oil for fresh).

Quite. The e46 for example has a bi-colour indicator, yellow for low, red for pressure.

same on my volvo too.

Ive had the yellow oil level light come on, but then disappear when the engine is turned off and on.

It then came back on about 10 minutes further down the road when i reached a slope.

Same process again. Cleared the light.

Checked the dipstick before starting the car the next day and it was nowhere near the minimum oil level on the dipstick.

So to blankly state that having the oil light come on has caused damaged isnt accurate. Depends entirely on the car.
