Changing hardware when using Windows 7

Hi all.
i have bought a new cpu, board and RAM. i have gone from intel to amd.

Is there anyway for me to keep from completely reinstalling the OS (i.e. repairing the install) as i dont want to have to reinstall all of my games and set up comodo again if at all possible.

Is your copy of Windows 7 the retail version or OEM?

I changed board a few weeks ago (Same CPU but a different motherboard chipset)

Windows 7 detected everything and installed all the drivers etc. I've had no stability or performance issues at all.

However I did have to re-activate windows and office, so if you're on the OEM version you may encounter problems, as the OEM version is supposed to be tied to that PC and Microsoft generally consider that significant a hardware change as not counting as the same PC any more.

Providing you get beyond the "Starting Windows..." bit without crashing it should be fine.

Seems to be working fine. Took a while for it to install the keyboard driver so i couldn't log in. But i just started it in Safe mode, let it install the main drivers and then restarted.

All is OK so far, fingers crossed.

If it's working okay you should be fine. The bootup sequence is where it will fall over if it's going to.
