My dads asked me to looki nto changing isps for his home. Hes currently on a 512k adsl that costs him about £25 a month. This is for unlimited use and he downloads a lot of files.

Just done a scan on one of the links in the sticky and it spew up this data:

The following services are available in your location:

BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
AOL LLU
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
21CN PSTN migration due Oct-Dec 2009

It states that I can get a max of 4meg on the line so am I right into looking at talktalk, aol or sky for one of there LLU packages and would only having 4meg max on the line by not worthwhile?

Looking at the sky broadband site, the max seems a good deal as he is heavy user and is also thinking about changing his sky package.

Has anyone got any experience with sky? of the speeds compared to 512k even with the 4meg limit)? Or slowdown during peak times?

Finally can I throw this adsl max into the equation and what kind are offers are there out there?

Thanks

If hes a heavy user, then AOL/Talk Talk is no good at all.

Im on UKFSN who are an Enta reseller, they are very good, just depends how much he downloads i suppose, im on their MAX 60 package which gets 60gb peak hrs, 330gb off peak allowance, peak hrs are 8am till 10pm and off peak is 10pm till 8am, and all weekend, all for £30 a month, and its a monthly contract to. :)

avoid aol/talktalk like the plague.

sky is supposed to be ok - if you already subscribe to sky tv and can get the 16mb service for a tenner......

Entanet all the way 30/300 19.99 a month just have to be careful in peak times....come 10pm the torrents start :)
