I am thinking about going from a Nforce4 (socket 939) system to a Nforce 650i (socket 775) system.

But I have a RAID-0 array currently, what are the chances of the new mobo recognising the RAID-0 array?

Any things I can do to the RAID array to get it recognised or anything else I can do the improve the chances of it working?

It "should" work. I have a hardware controller and I've re-installed loads of times and it always picks it up. I know your changing controllers but the new controller should pickup the stripe.

If the array is your OS drive and your changing your mobo, wouldn't a re-format be a better option any way ?

I will format and reinstall, it's just the rest of the data i don't want to lose by not being able to see any files on the drives.

Ideally I want to boot with the RAID array on the new system and then format the C partition and reinstall Windows XP while keeping all the other files on the other partitions, I only have Windows installed on the C drive, the rest is on other partitions.

The main issue is that I want to know if the NForce 430i on the new mobo can see the RAID array created on a Nforce4 Ultra mobo.
