Hi,
So recently i’ve replaced the mobo and cpu in 2 rigs and the system has failed to boot. I ended up having to reformat each one. I tried using offline dism commands but nothing helped.
In the past it’s always booted, but with errors which have been resolved once new mobo drivers were installed.

I now need to do another one, but really don’t want to have to reformat again. What’s the best way to prep a SSD with win10 installed in readiness for a new mobo and cpu.
These are retail licences btw so the fun police needn’t chirp in.

Thanks for any advice.

If I ever swap mobo's I just go into device manager and remove all driver, chipset, audio etc and up to now I have had no real problems.

A while ago, I swapped one of my spare drives from intel to ryzen as it was only a 120GB with windows on it that I never really used, It booted had a bit of a mad half hour and still working fine with all the ryzen drivers installed. It was more an experiment but it worked fine.
