Firstly apologies, I'm an idiot when it comes to things like this so bear with me :)

I've downloaded the Turnkey Linux Wordpress virtual appliance (http://www.turnkeylinux.org/wordpress) to use for some testing.

Was specifically using this image as it was a quick way to do some proof of concept stuff with heartbleed as it's a vulnerable image out the box.

As part of my testing I would like to try something where I'd login to the wordpress admin portal on a different port to the standard 80/443.

Anyone have any ideas as to how I can change the config of the port number used to do the above?

Cheers!

Firstly to install wordpress website on linux system you will require to install apache server and by default the to browse wordpress you will require http port enable which is 80 port so ,http is to browse the website and its default port is 80 so you first need to install webserver for e.g apache webserver should do the job for you.

Sorry I might not have made it clear, the turnkey appliance is a ready built linux vm with everything installed and setup.

But I just want to know how to change the port number it uses for the wordpress admin console. :)

I suspect WP might throw a hissy fit but creating a virtual host (listening on a non-standard port) that points to the WP directory might possibly work; could also throw in some rewrite rules to redirect wp-admin traffic for good measure.
