changing serial port number ?

i just got a dell PC but it has no serial so i bought an pci card with 2 serial ports and a printer port but the 2 ports are assigned to com3 and 4 I need to change these to com1 and 2. The program I'm using allows only com 1-2 for input is there Any way to change the port numbers ?

Device Manager > Ports > Select Properties on whichever > Port Settings > Advanced
