changing socket 775 multiplier

http://pcper.com/article.php?aid=109&type=expert&pid=3 examined the
P5GDC-V Deluxe mainboard. It said that BIOS allow changing the multiplier and later on during the Overclocking section, they said to reduce the multiplier to 14 from 16. I do not understand.

They lowered the multiplier and increased the FSB.

Hei. This is not AMD CPU

I dont seen what not being an AMD CPU has anything to do with it... People drop the multiplier lower and up the fsb so that there memory runs faster.
