I have a Samsung LCD TV with integrated Freeview tuner. Problem is our signal is rubbish even through the wall aerial socket. Would getting a separate Freeview box help? I read a couple of reviews of some boxes where people got improved signal with a decent box.

Would it be worth it or a waste of time?

So you think I would get better reception? I am assuming they will have better tuners inside them than my TV?

I don't need a recorder really, can anyone recommend me a box which is just a tuner and no hard drive?

my old freeview in the tv picked up barely any channels
Whereas the freeview box picks up all

I suppose it comes down to where you live as well. freeview reception
Do you live in a farm in the countryside where reception wont be so good?

Nope I live in the middle of Bristol!! In a basement flat but the aerial is in the loft or on the roof of the building as far as we know. We have a TV and FM Radio aerial socket coming into our flat.

Just fed up of poor reception we get about 50% of channels and if the weather is bad none!
