Hi i currently have a NZXT Phantom full tower case and its much to big and heavy for me now, i want something smaller that will fit on top of my desk. Id like to use what i can from my current pc which is nearly 4 years old now. This is all i think ill need.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5 - Devil's Canyon i5 4690K CPU & Micro ATX Motherboard Bundle **£14 Saving** £267.54
1 x Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1) £79.99
1 x Corsair Hydro H80i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler £74.99
1 x Corsair Carbide Series Air 240 High Airflow PC Case - Black (CC-9011070-WW) £69.95
Total : £502.07 (includes shipping : £8.00).

I have a 750W Antec TruePower PSU
Corsair XMS3 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Ram
Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD 7950 Windforce GPU
OCZ Vertex 60GB SSD
Samsung SpinPoint 1TB SATA-II

Will this all work fine with the new Motherboard/case?

I also have a i5-2500k which i could use instead of getting the 4690k bundle but think its worth upgrading while im changing the Motherboard and case.

Components wise thats a good spec, though id be temped to go for the h100i instead, for only £15ish more..

My main worry is £500 is a lot to spend and you'll see only a minimal increase in performance. You'll see a faster system due to the bigger SSD but gaming wise you'll only see a 10-15% increase on your 2500k.

There is no clear cut choice here, with the other option being spending money on a dead socket CPU (getting a mATX board for your 2500k). Or you wait for broadwell but thats months away...

The SSD and case choices are solid and the cooler is good (but as i've mentioned id go for the h100i). Its just the money for the CPU and motherboard upgrade thatworry me..

So my 2500k wouldnt work with the new motherboard? i hadnt thought about that.

Im not looking for a big performance increase which is why im sticking with my 7950 for now but i really would like a smaller case one thats easy to dust/get to and fits on my desk, i have a cancer (a brain tumour) thats weakened my right side (arm/leg) so having a full size case thats under my desk is difficult.

ill take a look at that cooler

No the new motherboards, Z97, are 1150 socket boards and the 2500k is a 1155 socket CPU. As I said you either need a new motherboard & CPU or an old socket, Z68/Z77 motherboard , to go with your 2500k.

I'm not sure the H105 fits. The H100i is supported though.
