Changing to Talktalk but old provider want's to charge me, any help

Glad you have a good service with no problems stoofa. However, as I've said, you are in the minority by a huge amount. 1 good experience for you against the AT LEAST 50 I have dealt with kinda makes your testimony seem a bit hollow doesn't it? My findings are confirmed by the industry watchdog that has gone on record as saying that talktalk are by far and away the worst ISP for billing problems, connection problems and complaints...
I therefore do not recommend talktalk to anybody, and with family members as a couple of cases I've had to sort out, I 100% back people who tell people to stay away from talktalk. however, that is my advice, and of course, people can make their own minds up.

Yer yer - Talk Talk are rubbish!!
They are a waste of space.
Don't touch them.

OK, that should keep the haters happy.

OP - I've been on Talk Talk Business LLU for almost 2yrs now.
I get 15mb/1mb connection which always feels quick even at peak times.
I'm on the business service so I also get a static IP address, but that is certainly not a necessity.

In the 23 months I've been with them I've experienced approx. 3hrs of total downtime, the longest being about half an hour, the others being five minute outages.
Billing has been exceptional - no errors ever.
Support I cannot comment on because, over 23 months I've never had the need to contact them, everthing just works.
I've had the need to email customer services twice (to check on first when my contract expires and secondly if they will be offering fiber services).
On both occasions these emails were answered within 48hrs.

Take this information as you see fit - just my experience.

Quick, the haters have started reading again.
So in conclusion, Talk Talk are the devil!

business broadband through talktalk is run by a different crowd to residential.

youve just proven my point. :p

The reason why the billing system is completely messed up is they bought company after company. All using different billing systems. they then tried to create a system that brought al the info together. this was where they failed and all there problems started. data missing all over the place. they have no idea how to fix the problem and just accept that they have to pay fines and issue refunds to people who complain (even if they are not having the issue as they cant prove it.).

I've been with TT Home service for almost 2 years now and had very little issue with the service, its a marked improvement over the service I was getting from ADSL24 (via Entanet).

TT are the only LLU provider on my exchange and give me a 16 meg connection which is very stable. The only issue I have had with TT is the router they supply as standard drops connection more times than an Essex girls knickers, but use a decent router and connection is rock solid.

My parents recently migrated to TT from BT and my dad gained 8mb of BB speed he now connects at 12 rather than 4, he did have install problems but they were due to the Openreach engineer mis-wiring the migration in the exchange TT chased Openreach and sorted this problem within 24 hours.

I have no issues with TalkTalk and their speed when people migrate, because 99% of the time they migrate from a BT exchange with only up to 8 meg, to a TalkTalk service with LLU which should be much faster. Quite often the service is then very good, until TalkTalk saturate said exchange and you start getting problems. When you start getting dialup speeds every evening, frequent disconnections, customer service who pass you around for hours....then you may understand why people moan. I honestly have had over 100 people that have experienced this, and talking to them is a nightmare. Ended up going via their forums for about 80% of these problems, and a good 90% of customers have eventually moved away...
If your exchange is lightly used, then the service is fine...
