Hi guys,
Ive ordered some web hosting with tsohost.co.uk and i want to connect it to my domain which is held at 123reg. Am i right in thinking the only thing i need to do is to point the DNS to the tsohost hosting in 123reg control panel, and then wait? Ive been waiting about 4 hours now. I know it says it could take 24 hours to propagate but the last time i did this only took a couple of hours I'm sure.
Regards
FP

You need to change the nameservers at your registrar to the ones tsohost should have sent you? If so it can take a while for them to propagate around the web.

It varies, not sure on what. Sometimes it can be done in minutes sometimes it can take hours. Sounds like you got the hours this time.

It could be your isp somehow caching the page. Take a look through a proxy server/page, or ask someone to have a look for you who hasn't been to the domain before.

Depends on what time to live is set on your domain, if you ever move again see if you can reduce the time before moving to minimise dns cache issues.

Personally I would have moved the domain over to the new host. It can get nasty when your domain name is with one company and hosting is on another.

No thanks, I've learned the hard way there, when the hosting company basically held me to ransom on my domain name when i wanted to move to a cheaper deal. From now on i will always keep my domain names separate!

Sorry. Personally I would never do that.
I have seen it cause too many issues when you want to leave the host etc.. just preference I suppose.
