I don't understand why you would want to change your gamertag, I thought long and hard about mine but I did get xbl in March year? when it came out so I got the one I wanted.

The trick is to make sure you are happy with your gamertag when you first choose it. Think of it as saving £6.80

If its to stop them chaging it every 5 minutes.. They should have restricted amount of times that you are allowed to change your gamer tag Say 5 per person. Or allow you to do it once a month for example.
Much better that making you PAY for it to be changed. Its like asif they dont get enough money as it is.
