Charging Battery With Power Pack?

I have a Halfords Power Pack 100

The unit is recharged via the house mains. It's used to to start the car when the car battery is a little low, but my car is completely flat.

I was wondering if anyone had a similar unit and will know if it's okay to charge the unit whilst plugged into a car battery, thus charging the car battery. Or whether the battery is going to explode and kill us all?

I charged my car battery when it was plugged in the other week, no damage done. Probably best disconnecting the battery terminals 1st though.

Chances are unless the powerpack is designed to opperate as a car battery charger, then it won't let you draw power off while its being charged, and even if it did the charging process would be low (as the charger would be designed for a battery of a couple of tens of Ah, rather than one of serveral hundreds)!

Mines been flat, left mine on for a few mins and had enough power to fire my car up.

Just fire the car and let the alternator do it as you drive along.

Should be fine, just remember to disconnect the battery from the car.
