With stuff that charges via USB you have the option of charging via a USB port on PC/Console/TV etc or via a plug/socket USB charger thatyou plug into a wall socket.

Do the plug/socket chargers charge things quicker than what they would if they were connected to a pc/tv etc.

thanks, i had been discussing it with a friend at work, we had a feeling mains would be quicker but wernt to sure if it was.

Some later motherboards have a USB 'boost' setting to allow devices to be charged at a reasonable rate but I suspect still not good as a mains charger.

Andi.

I've never found my phone battery lasts aslong if charged from PC via USB compared to plugging it into the mains charger.

Depends on the charger and voltage, my phone charger is only 300ma and USB 2 is capable of 500-900ma I think and my phone charges much faster on USB.

my ZTE travel charger USB plug says 700ma

Odd thing is when i plug anything into usb3, it isn't recognized as a data connection and just charges away.

Yet usb2 is fine.

I guess it's due to the higher output.
