I didn't miss the point, I understood what he meant I just thought it was wrong.

Well in that case, you need to learn to articulate yourself better, as:

"not buying from charity shops just incase you get too much of a bargain"

has absolutely no relation to

"use someone else's generosity in donating the game in order to make a personal profit?"

Do they count charity shop work as community service? that would be a pretty sweet deal if you had to do community service
I know one person who had to do Community Service in a Charity Shop, think it was Heart Foundation for Football "Firm" Violence at least 6+ months doing this mostly on a Saturday.

Another person I know also did Community Service in a Charity Shop a few year ago, not sure what he did wrong, woudnt surprise me if it was theft!

Fair enough. I wish I had more time to ensure that I articulate myself more effectively on internet forums. Wait, i'm doing it now!

In a flippant way I was saying that the 1st reply was a big over reaction and probably (hopefully) sarcastic

I think I'd have told them to sick a £10 price tag on it, and offered my ongoing services as a pricing consultant, provided I got first dibs on whatever they got in. Everyone wins!

Not sure why people are berrating him for it... thats the price they were selling it at I assume not like he ripped them off - and what he then does with it is his own business...

What a great idea, thanks for sharing your info on this.

Think I'll go around all the Charity Shops in my area, see if theirs anything I can make at least 50% profit on, could make a right tidy income out of it. :D

Infact go around all the Charity Shops in the County, make mega ££££ no one would mind me making 100K out of a Charity Shops would they?

The charity shop gets what they want, you can play the game if you want, someone buys the game from you for a price they're happy with, and the economy recovers! Everyone's a winner

Yeah I suppose the charity shop got their money. I'd of been inclined to give them a bit more for it though, but hey ho charity profited anyway.

It doesnt really matter does it, it happens all the time I bet.

Each to their own but I just coudnt make a profit out of a Chairty Shop, just doesnt feel right at all, especially when the money goes to Cancer Hospice, Orphan organisations etc.

Tell you one thing though, I bet the people in the Charity Shops take whatever they want for nothing anyway, woudnt put it passed them.

I always see games over priced in the charity shops I frequent - generally more than you can get them for on the net. Its not like you ripped the shop off as it was priced that way so someone was always going to buy it. You donate to charity and spend money back in those shops so fair do's really!

It's the only way you'll be able to increase your post-mortem underwear collection without arrest!

Indeed. The shop made a sale, which is the entire point. Anyone with a problem, think of it this way - the next time you sell a second hand game, you should feel ashamed for not donating it to a charity shop. No? Didn't think so.

tescos generally make £2-3 profit on their games. (atleast the store i work at does)

charity got it for free, sold if for £1.50 profit.

sounds fair to me
