Off to Paris this weekend and was wondering how most people get from CDG Airport to their destination.

Do you use a shuttle, taxi or train? Can train times be found online before getting to the airport for simplicity?

How much do you generally pay for shuttles, etc for the journey?

Cheers :D And yes, Im a noob at all this stuff!!

I'm intrigued on this too - as I am off to Paris in about 3 weeks!

OOooh. Just out of interest what hotel have you gone for? Central location or something else?

Where are you staying in Paris? The RER is probably the cheapest way to travel but be warned, it's not easy to navigate or understand..Compared to The London Underground for example, it may aswell be mapped in arabic.

I went last August and just got a bus in to Paris. There's one every 20 minutes or so and it takes about half an hour. Not sure how much it costs just for the bus as I paid using metro tickets, it costs 3 of those if memory serves.

When i was in Paris i find that it was really easy to navigate, just need to know what is the destination of that line (which has a number) and get on that. It is also colour coded too, not too dissimilar to the LUG.

Its the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles one! Just getting to paris is fine. From there I can get a taxi, tube or whatever but its the main journey I want to get planned before I arrive so Airport -> City centre really

Porte de Versailles

Metro :

line 12, Porte de Versailles station

Bus :

line 39 - line 80 or line PC1, Porte de Versailles station

Héliport :

a rapid link with international airports - available shortly

There's a train station in the airport, that has signs pointing to it after the baggage claim. The train takes you to Gare du Nord, which has a metro link and should take you pretty much anywhere. If you look up Paris Metro, you should find a map of all the stations, and be able to figure out which line you want from that.

I can't remember exactly, but I think it was about £3 per person when I was there a couple of years ago, for the train and metro into the city. If you go by train, be very careful around Gare du Nord at night. There are a lot of muggings in that area.

Cheers vixen. Will keep an eye out after baggage claim! :)

Next thing to figure out is hoe long before the flight you have to be at the airport for check in is!

I can't remember exactly which firm I used when I went to Paris, but usually Shuttle Services are your best bet. Not too expensive and much more convenient :)

Bingo, went with a company for £11 for two of us iirc in the summer. From the airport straight to our hotel and it was far easier than taking the metro as we did the time before.

Looks like I may catch a shuttle after all! Which company did you use or did you just catch one when you arrived? I fancy booking a shuttle straight to the hotel but catching the train back from the hotel to the airport.

After getting up at 5am I'm sure it will be nice arriving at the airport knowing that transport to the hotel is all sorted!
