Charley Boorman

i think he's ok, he's no palin but he's ok and i like his series.

and at least he didnt bring his wife biking on the long way down like ewan did, that was shocking.

Literally milking it for all it's worth.

I think even if McGregor was on the latest one it would still be ****. The first one was pretty epic but became tiresome, personalities as well as the journey.

Everytime something mildly/remotely interesting happens they may as well do a Clarkson in the North Pole and yell 'Sweeettt!!!!'. (because he wasn't Attenborough.)

They have almost no knowledge so all they can do is try to 'describe the experience' which makes them sound like total prats.

Tend to like his shows, but this one seems a tad boring.

Think it would be better if Ewan was with him again, but it still wouldn't take away from the fact that its a boring trip as said.

Usually change the channel if something comes on with him, as I find him quite annoying.

I enjoyed The Long Way Round, and he and and Ewan worked quite well together in that. He doesn't work so well on his own.

Another thing I'm not keen on is in the second show The Long Way Down, how the guy who was the Producer got in front of the camera all the time, and was trying to become a bit of a star of the show. He really annoyed me and I didn't want to know about him and what he was up to.

This particular incarnation is a bit weak, however I've enjoyed some of his previous shows.

I particularly like the series based around the Dakar - It's a pity he had to drop out so early on as I think the show / documentary would have been better with him continuing rather than a quick skip to the end.

Long way down and far away round - whatever the hell they were called, I rather enjoyed and made a point of watching regularly. Ewan Mcgregor and the crew made it bearable but it's mainly about the bikes and various countries/environments. The one complaint I would have about the final series was Mcgregors irritating Mrs.

Boorman is a dull plonker right enough but I can't say I hate the chap. His show is tedious though, not worth my or anyone elses time, imo.

He is boring, unfunny, and has no charisma what so ever. I couldn't give a toss about what he thinks he comes across as being a total jerk.

It was wrong of him and the BBC to go ahead with his series, it almost spoils what was a good concept with him and Ewan McGregor. Having said that he annoyed me even when he was with Ewan.

Get this idiot off my TV NOW!

This latest series is a bit tiresome, but on the whole I like the guy.

"Race to Dakar" is superb, it's quite impressive that he gets as far as he did. In fact, I'm going to dig my copy out later and watch it again. :)

Long Way Round was superb IMO, I've watched it many times on DVD, Long Way Down was ok but not as good (watched once on TV - I wouldn't buy the DVD), I like Ewen but WTF was up with him bringing the missus - ffs! :(

I'd like to see Boorman in a gladiatorial contest against the presenters from Autumnwatch. Boorman would be armed with a substantial chainsaw, whereas the Autumnwatch crew would be able to call upon their friends from the wild: an angry honey badger, a swarm of killer bees, and an attack hawk.
