Chase & Status

Well it was a decent gig anyway, finishing off with the Nnenka remix as they have done the rest of the tour - was a good experience anyway! Tinie tempah was supposed to be there and im not sure if it was him or not (i hate his music so wouldnt really tell if it was him or not) so im trying to figure out who was with them.

edit: and i dont mean support acts, just someone MC'ing over C+S tracks. What other acts would people recommend in the same sorta field then?

I hate most mc's, that video just makes me cringe. Much prefer female vocals over dnb/dub.

Yeah c&s are "ok", pretty mainstream though, and they work to it. Some remixes are good though.

Tempa P not Tenie Tempah.

Yeah, i've seen them at Warwick University's student union (copper rooms). Was fantastic, during Heartbeat (originally by Nneka) I went mental bouncing all over. Luckily I wasn't the only one, mass mosh pit = lots of sweat.

All good fun :p

Just got in from seeing them, did an hour n a half set and it was a lot better than I expect to be honest. Played some new songs that they are releasing on their new album in January which were good.

They were not amazing but it was still a good live gig.

When i saw them they seemed to be proper enjoying themselves! So good live. I do really want to see them again.

Yeah that's the place, haha no they didn't look moody.

I've only ever seen them once, and that was only because it was for free :p But they just looked proper depressed and p*ssed off behind the DJ Booth like they did'nt enjoy it at all. Mind you, we were in Cheltenham :p

I saw Chase and Status do a live performance yesterday at their first festival gig of the year and I must say, they absolutely smashed it. The new album really suits a full instrumental performance.

'new' C&S is utter tosh :(

'I liked Chase & Status before they were mainstream.'

i liked chase and status when they actually made decent music, what's your problem?

it has nothing to do with mainstream, purely down to the fact the new album has a handful of good tunes, whereas the new album is complete crap in comparison...

Agreed. I think you'll find most people go off a band not just simply because they're 'mainstream' and therefore liked by a wider range of people, but because in order to appeal to that wider range of people they've had to straighten out their sound and make it more accessible; thus leaving behind the sound that attracted fans to them in the first place. Happens across all genrés, and is in most cases a real shame but sadly inevitable.

All a matter of opinion though of course :)

I wasn't having a dig or anything, just wanted to use the image and the phrase :)

I too agree that chase and status (and quite a few other musicians) made most of their best stuff early on in their career. Sorry if it came out wrong.

They're not really my cup of tea but seen them at the Radio1 Big Weekend and they were awesome, the place was bouncing :)
