Cheap 4k monitors

Mate you must be blind.
i posted about that info away up the top... #66

That is 120hz at 1080, not 4k at 60 which is what nightglow is also now saying
As I say, as much as ive seen some people say they can get 120hz/1080 working, some people are saying that software is reporting 60fps still and not 120

Why would you buy a 4k screen and then run at 1080 anyway, there are cheaper screens that can do that

Between the 2 of you, you are potentially advising people to buy a screen because you think it might do something, its bad advice when theres no evidence they can
I'd love to find out it is true, but I wouldnt want to waste abunch of money on finding out it isnt

I'm certainly not recommending people to buy any screen, just pointing out that some people have found it possible to update the 39" screen using firmware for the 50" & as a result have now found out they can run at 120Hz 1080p.

As I already mentioned earlier unless the tv's have the new HDMI 2.0 chipset, then they have no chance of 4k@60Hz, BUT the new Pro range have the HDMI 2.0 chipset, so people are speculating the 39" may also have the new chipset, & only need a firmware update, but info as whether this is so, is thin on the ground.

hardly. i quoted the above post retracting what i said. in the past week i have been researching loads of information on monitors and what they can and cant do....
mistakes do happen i wouldn't say i was advertising lol and people do overclock there monitors aswell... from info i have gathered on this monitor the only way possible to get 60fps @ native on it 4k ect is with HDMI 2.0 and some people think that the hardware inside is hdmi 2.0 compatible and just waiting for seik to release a firmware update but i don't think it will happen....

and i already said this some posts ago, anyway this is the last post i make regarding 60fps@native on this monitor and that goes for any further information regarding it aswell. if you think im advertising then try and find your own information on it in future.

advising =/= advertising ;)

I apologise that I missed your 2nd post - I came in to the thread and saw someone quoting you asking for info, I replied with the truth and then nightglow got on my case about some rumours (which are obviously not true either)

trust me, if the seiki did 60hz I would be all over that

We just don't know about the rumours, Seiki aren't saying anything, so we can only guess, as whether the sets have the HDMI 2.0 chipset.

Won't we need at least 2 graphic cards to run games in high frame rates, these 4k monitors do look amazing, Iv got a R9 290, I wonder if it can give cope

I'd be willing to bet $500 that they don't, or more to the point no one would be willing to bet $500 that they do

It doesn't really matter, it's just all speculation. It'd be great IF the 39" ones had the chipset to support 60Hz at 3840x2160, because we don't know what the chipset is, there's no harm in speculating that it COULD be possible that they're electrically capable, but the firmware hasn't been developed for it yet.

If it turns out that it's not, oh well, and I hope they come out with one that can do 60Hz at 3840x2160 asap. The reason I am interested in the 39" is because they have slightly smaller pixels than my 27" 2560x1440 monitors, but are larger which I'd love for productivity like Photoshop, Notepad++, or 3DS Max.

Same here, Asus unveiled a 39 inch 4k at the same time as the 32 Igzo with a release date of "Q4 2013" but nothing has been seen of it since

I think now is currently Q4 2013 of the 2013 financial year, though it might be February 1st to April 1st.

Depends where;
In the US its the other way round, fiscal year 14 started Q1 in October 2013
The news I read was on a US site, but the reveal happened in Taipei
