Cheap as possible, min spec included

came up with the following:

no case , you'll need to check the size to ensure mobo's fit.
psu included.
is your dvd drive a sata one ?
upped the spec to "recommended with a i5-2400 and the ocuk 560ti and it raised the price to £430.92.

problem your raising is trying to get kit which will allow you to upgrade, which is going to cost you, but wanting a spec as cheap as possible.

you mention an i7 processor, really no point getting one for a gaming pc.

also going for a "K" overclocker either way your better going for a z77 mobo which is going to add another £45 to the spec, which i'd do at the start rather than update the h61 for a cheap spec later on.

1 x Intel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £95.99
1 x MSI HD 6850 "Dual Fan Edition" 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £89.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (ST500DM002) £59.99
1 x OCZ ZS Series 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £46.98
1 x MSI H61M-P31-G3 Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £35.99
1 x Kingston Blu 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9AD3B1K2/4G) £23.99
Total : £364.92 (includes shipping : £10.00).

Ok im going to apologize as it seems i have been throwing a few people off the sent...

I need a pc that reaches the min spec but hits as close to the recomended as possible.

This is the spec i have found due to some of your sujestions:

AS Rock h61m - £28
Intel Pentium 2.6ghz - £37
Msi Nvidia Gefore GTX470 - £110
Crucial 8gb (2x4gb) - £18
Case already supplied (need to know how to check it will house this motherboard)
PSU 450W - already supplied

How is this?

All advice would be good. Not bothered for upgrading as i have been asked to build 2 of these so just need to get parts asap to get gaming :)

nvidia state minimum psu spec at 550w, it could be ok with 450w but either way its gonna need to be a decent brand like corsair, antec, etc wise you risk the psu blowing up and taking your whole system with it! otherwise spec looks ok

I'm fairly sure you should be able to get a 560Ti for a similar price.

Difference (GPU load) = 214Watt (TDP = 215W)
...
GeForce GTX 470

On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit. We recommend at least 35 Amps in total available on the +12 volts rails (accumulated).

Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 169 Watts
...
Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation on the GeForce 400 series:

GeForce GTX 560 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit.

450W should be fine with a 560TI, then you meet the recommended requirement dead on ;)

Please find out what make+model the PSU is exactyly, I cant find much info, but it sounds like a cheap one so I wouldnt use it on a GTX470/GTX560 ti.

No offense to Mercution but for the price hes suggesting EVERYTHING would have to be second hand, even then its unlikely you will get that for the price.

You've chosen a game with high reccomended components and as such will cost a fair amount.

Well, not to be mean to OcUK but... no. You can build a H61/G620/8GB/GTX460 build with only the GTX460 being second hand. I shop here for decent parts, for the very low end cheap stuff it's not so easy to get it here. Clearance etc sometimes has a bit of a lucky find :)

In this case we need to add PSU - so another £40ish for something cheap but ok like a very low end antec/ocz.

Fairest thing here. I'll use proper prices (with rounding so it doesn't aid a google so much either just to keep to the spirt of the rules and not say where from.)

OCZ 500W CoreXstrem PSU - £35
Asrock H61M-VS - £34
Intel G620 2.6Ghz - £45
Crucial Ballistix 8GB - £34.00

Throw in something like a GTX460/HD5870 (second hand) for around £70/80 and you have everything needed for your build. You re-use old drives and case. Pull any fans available out of the case you don't use and if need be another £7-8 on a hole cutting drill bit to make fan holes. Depends on the age of the case and what you could do with it cooling wise.

Something like £225ish would cover it.

It won't be a stellar gaming beast of a machine but it'll play everything out at "ok" settings at least.

Edit: hadn't read the thread so apologies for missing the above, looks ok. £40ish for an OCZ is about the best you'll do. There a couple of antecs down in that sort of price range but they tend not to have the needed PCI power plugs so it's a pain messing about with converters etc and even then, still not ideal.

Also, while agreed a z77 board is a worthy investment now it's generally a pretty painless upgrade moving between modern intel boards. I went from p67 to z68 (B3 upgrade) without any re-installs etc, windows got it's head together and installed everything fine. I plugged all the un-needed stuff back in once it was done with the basics and it's been no issue since.

Can I ask a quick question in relation to the motherboard, I have found nice cheap one but it has no i/o sheild. What is this and is it a problem?

The I/O shield is the plate that goes into the back of the case to make sure the ports etc all line up nice and no extra dust and fluff gets in as well as labelling each port properly for you.

You MIGHT get away with another I/O shield that fit (unlikely tho) or it would be "ok" without, you'd just have to be a bit careful plugging stuff in.
