Cheap banana plugs?

So I've bought all of my 5.0 setup and have not yet installed it (moving at the end of the month, so will do it then).

I am thinking that it might be more convenient to have my speaker wire connected to the receiver by banana plugs (not too bothered at the speaker end).

Is there anything wrong with cheap banana plugs? Are ones like these likely to be detrimental to sound quality? They are gold plated so I can't really see why they should

For reference my equipment is:
Onkyo ts xr606
2x B&W dm602 (will be bi-amped)
2x B&W dm601
B&W cc6
the wire is this:
25m Quality 2 x 2.5mm Loud Speaker Cable - Multi-Strand: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
So I need 14 plugs if I am to do the receiver end only.

edit:
while I'm here. With bi-amping. Is making sure that the two sets of wires are the same length enough diligence to avoid problems with the two sets being different lengths? Or do I need to find myself some bi-wiring wire (aka 4 cores together)?

I wouldn't bother unless you plan on re-arranging the room every few days, Bannana plugs have always seemed a waste of money to me once the wires are in they tend to stay there for month/years so why spend money on something that makes it easy to do something you never do?

The counter argument is that it makes wiring at the AV amp so much easier and avoids the risk of shorts. I've been to do diagnostics on other installs where the amps cut out at higher volumes... The culprit was bare wire shorts because the owner couldn't get the cables in to the screw terminals due to restricted space, poor visibility or just rushing.

IMO it is definitely worth it at the amp end, especially where an AV amp has 7 or 9 channels of tightly packed screw terminals and the cable is a decent thickness multistrand. I always price it in as part of my installs.

Agreed with Lucid and if you deal with a lot of AV kit on a daily basis like me, it just makes it so much easier to plug and play except for going through all the faff of unscrewing terminals, making sure cables are the right way around etc.

I've got the Nakamichi banana plugs myself and they are very nice for the price. :)

My thoughts exactly, I had enough fun just putting 4 connections in, putting 14 in will be hell. Now here's hoping that they arrive in time (delivery estimate is aaaaaages away).

Are you sure the outputs on the 606 will take a banana plug?

Dont recall the back of mine looking like it would take anything other than bare wire or the horseshoe type conntectors(whatever the proper term is?!).

You remove the centre from the plastic part and the plug fits in there.
