RAM prices, especially DDR2, have shot up in recent weeks, for a number of reasons already discussed in the forums.
Going by the store site, there's nothing on offer in the price range you mention for now and it's very hard to say when that might change.

I think it's to do with the launch of Windows 7 . . .

Windows 7 = very hyped 64-bit operating system . . .

64-bit operating system = Global O/S that raises the Physical Memory Limits from 4GB to 128GB :D

That has nothing to do with the RAM type
But yeah DDR3 is starting to go mainstream, so not many companies would want to manufacter DDR2. It's all about supply and demand now.
Check around the site, theres some 4gb kits for £70 like this one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-183-OC&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1516

If we didn't see that crazy drop in DDR2 prices 6 months back (especially 4gb kits) we wouldn't be finding it so hard to part with £70~ for a 4gb kit now.

In the past I've paid crazy prices for ram! speed binned tccd & bh-5 ram to cherry picked d9 micron ram. Really £70 for decent high capacity ram kit realistically isn't all that bad, although now I'm a big fan of cheap ram and lots of it :)
