I'v noticed that there are really cheap corsiar DDR 3 rams about for 60-70 pounds, I'd like to know if they are any good.

so, anyone brave enough to test them out :p

EDIT: the price stated is for a dual channel 2 gb ram kit

No catch, they just have pretty loose timings for 1333 speeds...doubt they will clock very well but you can try.

Corsair Memory DDR3 2GB (2 x 1024MB) 1333MHz 2 x 240 DIMMs 9-9-9-27 64mx8 (Silver)

is the name of it, i do like overclocking cpus, and i really dont want the ram to get in the way... now im facing a dilemma.

it does have smallish heatsinks on though.

You can theoretically run 666FSB before you even start overclocking the ram, so I wouldn't worry about it getting in the way.

That's not really worth it when you can pick up 2x2gb of OCZ PC2-8000 for £55.

I was thinking of the 790i chipset mobo actually... i thought it will be great for its future proofness.. and if i ever wanted to get lots of ram in the future... i can !

Im currently planning an upgrade for wolfdale basically.

The timings will only result in a 2 or 3% performance deficit. The cost savings are massive. DDR3 is supposedly cheaper to manufacture than DDR2 so I guess the high prices are due to "price fixing" again.

Expect DDR3 prices to drop really quickly very soon.

future proofness won't count when nehalem and the new socket size come along.
