Just incase my 32GB Lexar goes on the friitz; I procured a 16GB stick of DDR5 for £82 with a 5 year warranty.
Whilst the 32GB ram would be returned under warranty; I would still be able to use the PC.
£72 DDR5 16GB 4800 and £10 for laptop to desktop convertor. The ram worked really well. Quite happy I've that in my aresnal just in case.
As DDR5 has two independent 32-bit subchannels per stick the performance loss over 2x8GB sticks in dual mode in negligible at best.
The ram worked fine at the rated speed and perhaps this is a temporary solution to the daft prices at the moment.
