Hello - on a bit of a budget, I am looking to order/create a gaming PC that will run Fallout 4 on high settings and doom eternal comfortably on medium settings.

My budget is £400-500 for the PC box (already have monitor/accessories).

I was wondering if anyone with experience of building PC's could provide some advice?

Thanks for your quick reply - that's very helpful.

Hypothetically what is the cheapest graphics card I could get that would manage acceptable performance with your set up?

A (used) 1060 or RX 570/580 would manage in the games you mentioned, but I don't recommend buying one because they struggle to play newer games like Cyberpunk very well, especially without upscaling.

cheaper psu to pair with @Tetras spec

i would also swap the motherboard to a A520 board (something like the MSI A520M-A PRO - not stocked at ocuk)
though that may limit your options if you do want to upgrade the cpu in future of course

could also shop around for the ssd - 1TB ssds should be (and are) cheaper than listed

the above changes would get you nicely into the top end of your £500 budget
and as always, you should shop around for the best prices

The RX 6500XT is quicker than those for a lot les power. I’d probably go for a used 2060 super if it was similar money.

You never mentioned Resolution but I think we can all assume it is 1080p for the budget.

The RX6600 is your best bet and of you really wanted to, you could offset some of the increased cost by selling the Starfield key. Even £30 would bring you much closer to your budget.

And if you're in striking distance of OCUK HQ you can save on the delivery costs by picking it all up yourself.
