Cheap Gaming System?

Hey there

Well I am thinking about building a new computer but only have around £400 or so to spend and want the best gaming PC I can buy for that money. I know I won't be getting a liquid cooled uber gaming PC but I want one that will run all older games such as Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Oblivion, most MMO's and newer games such as Stalker, Bioshock, Enemy Territory Quake Wars and upcoming games like CoD4, Warhammer Online, Unreal Tournament 2007 on relatively high settings with decent FPS. I only need the PC tower cos I have a decent monitor.

How will both of those setups run the games I mentioned? As I've had more than my fair share of bad luck with those games running on my current system which sucks tbh. I am looking for around 30+ FPS on those games and maybe about 25 FPS if I'm running Fraps or something.

Hey the ocuk 1950s appear to have a bad batch as 2 people have reportly both got dead gfxs so if you are going to buy one perhaps give them a ring first. But definitly a good deal to buy one... when they get a better batch

Can you strech over 450? Getting a GTS would give you a lot more power. Plus you can get a cheap 1.6ghz cpu to 3ghz on the stock cooler i beleive. Or at least 2.5ghz which is a good overclock

just had a quick look but, if you want everything, i.e. case, psu, hd, dvd drive etc then i dont see any other way other than x1950pro (as mentioned few times above) for a £400 gaming PC

Not sure why you quoted me. I too have been looking to see what he can get. I think at just under 500 you can scrape a GTS in.
