Probably the wrong forum but as my garden is involved.

Want to keep an eye on a sanctuary I have built for a visiting cat which may well be a stray, I caught it trying to eat boiled eggs and some cooked potato stuff someone had left out for the birds which indicated that it was pretty hungry. I put a bowl of food out for it and the following day it came and ate the lot but as soon as it saw me it was off.
Today I managed to get withing 10 feet but then it was off most days I miss it but I know it has been. I have put up notices and spoken to my cats vet but no one knows the beast, it does not look in a bad condition but that does not necessarily mean it is not a stray.
Anyhoo I would like to set up some sort of surveillance outside so that, hopefully, over time I can gain it's trust and get it checked over for a chip.

This is the beast in question.

You going to run a power cable from your roof space, or through the wall?
Be interested to see how you install that beasty and what the pictures and results are like.

Not absolutely sure what route to go to power the thing as yet. Will have look at picture quality from various positions and distances before deciding.

Great, let me know, in a new house these things are easy to plan for, even just leaving redundant leads fo future expansion, in existing properties, like my own, i only see the aching balls as any easy solution doesn't seem to exist.
Stealing power form a lighting ring cable might be best.

I stay in a flat on the first floor and the garden is communal but I am the one that keeps it tidy in fact the other five flats rarely use it so I can pretty much do what I want.
As this is hopefully a temporary project, solely to know when my visitor is about so I can gradually get the cat to trust me. So I can get it checked by a vet etc.
