Pre Carona we were in the process of moving. Now everything has gone nuts, we're staying put but tidying the house a little.

We'd like to give the kitchen a make over without resorting to getting a completely new kitchen installed.

The thinking is to keep the existing units but clean them up, new paint and new handles. I can handle that much easily enough

We'd also like to get a new work top and sink installed plus some splash back tiling. This is way beyond me so could someone keep me straight on what needs to happen and who would need to be involved to complete it?

The existing worktop has a gas hob in place which we'd like to keep.

In terms of what needs to happen i'm thinking the below
  • measure up a new worktop
  • disconnect hob
  • removal of old work top / sink
  • install new work top
  • install new sink
  • connect gas hob
  • tile
Is there one person who could do all of the above? Or would i need separate trades for each part (joiner, plumber, gas)

Appreciated :)

I would see if a local kitchen fitter could do this for you. I used one on my last house, he was able to carry out electrical work (got the certificates afterwards) and was gas safe too so was able to move my gas pipe as I changed the kitchen from a U shape to an L shape. I chose to save a few quid and tiled the splash back myself, only had about 4 plug sockets to worry about.
