Just use 02 or Orange PAYG and put £10 a month on. This will get you 300 free texts and you'll still have the £10 available for calls and such :)

Thats what i am doing now. Just wanted to get a contract now.

if the only reason you want to get a contract is to be on a contract i wouldn't bother if i was you as you now have tp spend £10 per month atleast where as before on PAYG it wasn't compulsory (sp?) and say one or 2 months you can't afford to pay it for some odd reason, uyou don't have to.

If you want a contract for a free phone i don't really know how much of a phone, if one at all, you will get on a £10 contract. like i said though i don't know for sure

By going contract you are basically going to double your monthly bill (lowest contracts I know of are £19 from orange & O2) and decrease you monthly text allowance at the same time.

So if you're planning on doing that just to get a new phone then at least make sure you get a good one.
Otherwise you'd be far better remaining on PAYG.

.

The cheapest network contract available at the moment, I believe is T-Mobile's Flext 20, which at the moment costs £15 for life (min 18 months). 170 minutes or 340 texts or any mixture of. It's not a bad deal for the money and if you're talker it works out better than any payg arrangement.

I might go to a £15 a month contract if i can find one with a nice phone! Any ideas?
Why not just go with O2?

I got a Nokia 6233 on a 12 month contract, which is £25/month. Another bonus, is that the phone appears to be unlocked - or at least it takes my Virgin simcard, too!:D

£25 is too much for me at the mo.
So are you looking at just getting a £10/month sim card?

Or are you one of these people who want 1,000 minutes and 10,000 texts every month, with the latest and greatest phone for say £1/month?

I think thats pretty much half this forum

To the OP; you get what you pay for, no sensible provider is going to give you a handset with a higher value than your contract will produce them in profit over a given period of time. Quite simple really.

As pointed out he can get a £15 p/m T-mobile flex'd with a free phone. Thats a much better deal.

I'm on 02 PAYG

What I do is, top up £15 which gives you 500 texts
You then have £15 + £1.50 to spend on what ever you like (£1.50 is for the 10% back end of the month)
Would be pretty hard for a contract to beet that
