Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a cheap ethernet equipped HD to plug into my router to allow me to backup my files from 1 desktop, a laptop, a PS3 and a mac. It doesn't need to be huge (320gb and above) and I guess that the deciding factor is really price, I've had an expensive couple of months of tech buying:)

Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

Thanks

Build your own? FreeNas on an old PIII for example?
If you're looking for bang for the buck and configurability it can't be beaten.
The only way I see the ready made solutions being better is size/looks.

Have to agree.

Definitely more bang for buck.

That FREENAS looks great. Can it be configured to run off a wireless network?

Think that it would be just about acceptable to 'clutter up the house' with something small but plugging in even a mini-atx size computer in the living room of our house would not go down well.

How do people find the Freecom's? Quiet? Easy to use?

Cheers
