Cheap PC

Hey,

Need a new pc built, for boss at work.

Nothing special, as long as it runs the net and excel word etc.

So even a wee 3000athlon would be fine, needs to be done on a budget incl screen.

Talking 200-, any ideas on what to look for?

Do you need absolutely everything? Case, drives, monitor, mouse?

Asus barebones probably the easiest starting point. OcUK even do some prebuilt ones.

Just built a budget PC for a skint mate and the parts cost £145.85 Inc VAT :eek:

It consisted of:

For £200inc I think you will have to go secondhand or at least partly secondhand unless you can find a very good deal on a pre-built. There have been one or two suitable options in the Members Market that might be worth a look.

Thats quite decent, but someone in an office might want a more 'refined' case. Something like this (Its also nearly half the price):

Add some RAM, a CPU, HDD, and DVD-writer and your done. All for around the £180 mark. Getting something with a decent screen is going to be non starter for the budget.

Nice looking case but for a super budget build it's too expensive imho, when you factor in a PSU your looking at £40 at least, I bought the casecom case for £11 inc PSU :eek:
