I'm looking for a cheap, reliable W10 tablet that I will use for general office work; Outlook, Excel etc.. It will need to be able to be hooked up to a PC monitor and operated with a bluetooth keyboard & mouse.

I'm hoping I don't need to go to the expense of a Surface tablet?

I would not get a lix tablet for what you describe unless its very basic office work, they latest 12.5" one has wifi dropout issues that to my knowledge has not been sorted. Yes they have bluetooth.

Look at a surface pro 2017 model second hand (Core M version or even better i5)or surface go if your budget allows, with the wifi to hdmi dongle, but double check that works on the surface go. Dont get surface pro 4 unless you are sure the one you get works well, they have buggy touch screens. This is the most reliable option

if you dont mind second hand and a slightly older device, then dell venue 11 can be had very cheap and are powerful but its old device. Even a older sony vaio tap11 if you dare, but these devices are noisy unless its core M versions.

@AMDPower could you link me to a Surface Go that would fit the bill? Sorry to request the spoon feed, but the models I'm finding are up at the £800 mark?

not sure if i can link because of ocuk rules, but if you search for surface go on microsft website the base model is £379, but it can be had cheaper on certain auction site for £315 for the base model which is 64GB. You cant miss it.

also search for surface pro 2017 on auction site, if you dont mind used buy one of those, you will appreciate the bigger screen for office work much better than the 10" of the surface go and faster cpu.
