Hi folks,

I currently have an iPhone and am using my pay as you go sim in it (o2 sim, top up £10 per month and get 300 texts). I want to know what my options are for something similar that gives me access to the Internet. I currently spend about £15 a month. I don't want to spend too much more than this, maybe around £20.

I did notice on the o2 website that you get free 1mb of browsing per month but I don't know if I can use it, my sim is around 5 years old so it could just be for new customers.

I think 02 give the most megabytes per pound on their bolt-on, it's been a while since I checked though, maybe someone else got an idea who offers most?

I was about to ask "Really?" but then I read this on 02 website

A fair use policy applies and if your usage substantially exceeds that of other users, which is normally expected to be below 200MB/month, you will be charged standard rates for additional browsing. We will send you a warning text message advising you to limit your usage before this occurs and a text message to confirm when you are being charged

The O2 offer......

I have just sent of for 4 (free) sims from them which give unlimited texts and calls to other O2 numbers for £15 a month topup.

Will I be able to use the £7.50 data bolt on with these sims? I should at a guess?
 
Is this o2 internet package "edge" (as it is called on the iphone) or is it something else. Also, what is the performance lie, do websites take ages to download etc? It'll not be often that I use the internet outside of wi fi areas I just wanted it for emergences etc. (is 200mb sufficient for this?)

Edit: Also, is the bolt on paid out of my pay as you go top up or is it paid by direct debit?
 
I believe o2 have moved to an excessive usage policy where you canuse as much as you like as long as it is for personal use, and through your mobile (and not using it as a mobile) and further you get a free bolt on with simplicity £25 and above tarriffs or £35 normal tarriffs :)

I would imagine so.

Sounds too good to be true but where did you see that offer?

I'm paying £30p/m just for unlimited texts...

Yes if it works with bolt on ideal...

That £15 top up is that taken for the deal or do you just have to top up £15 to get it..

IE can you use the £15 credit to call other people?
 
Just a heads up...for the £15 a month free calls and texts to O2 deal you don't need a new sim if already on O2 payg. :)

So my mum (who's just on an old school o2 SIM) can text that and get free stuff, compared to no benefits now?
