Cheapest 'per/GB' drive?

Hi guys,

Looking to swap a 3.5" mechanical drive with the best bang for buck multi-TB drive.

What is the best bang for buck drive without getting silly? Aiming for anywhere between 3-5TB TBH.

It'll be a NAS drive with irregular downloads and then just read across occasionally via a media server.

Don't know about the 'best bang for buck' drive, but I went with the Ironwolf 4TB, it's a great HDD and sounds like it meets your needs

On reflection though, is a NAS 'spec' drive suitable for my use case? It'll just be a single disk in a Dell OptiPlex Windows 10/Plex Server. Would a compute drive that goes to sleep etc be more suited? It is powered on 24x7 mind.

I am mainly using mine as a Plex media server aswell.
I heard a LOT of negative things about the Barracuda which led me away from it right from the get go.
So I went with the IronWolf as it's what most recommend especially for something that's on 24/7, doesn't make sense to use a drive that's not made for your purpose.

Thanks. However won't Windows make sure it isn't "on 24x7" by hibernating the drive?
