Cheapest possible graphics card to render windows at 4k

Just looking for advice as ducking out PC gaming for a while,

planning on selling my current graphics card, so need to replace with an alternative.

for the next 6 months or so, I’ll be web browsing, downloading, the occasional bit of streaming, and office use.

as long as it can comfortably run windows at 4k60 then I’m happy with as cheap as it can go

You need to make sure it has a decoder capable of playing 4K in various codec types like VP9, H.264 and H.265, if you intend to play any 4k videos.

gtx1000 will do the trick, if you can find a gtx1060 do it
 
To be honest, streaming wise it’ll likely just be audio, I can use my consoles for video or my other TV, literally just a barebones card that’ll run windows and other basic stuff for the time being, I’ll search some suggestions, I’m running a 2600 cpu so no integrated graphics sadly
 
I'd go with a GTX 1030, they can decode H.264, H.265 and VP9 videos at 4K, and cost about £70.

You could use this card to stream games as well, as most of the streaming services use these codecs.

Surely only via Displayport as HDMI 2.0 was only introduced with Maxwell (GTX 900 series) and Polaris (Radeon RX400 series).

HDMI 1.4 might be able to manage 4k@60 but not at full Chroma 4:4:4 which is a compromise too far, IMO.

Remember the rule of thumb - stick to AMD Radeon for superior user experience, better settings control, better image quality settings, better power consumption, better pricing.

Or Radeon RX 550 or Radeon RX 560. Maybe you can find also a cheaper second hand Radeon RX 570 or something above.

Why would you want to sacrifice the gaming?

Waiting for better pricings later?

I am quite sure that it won't. Intel's iGPUs cannot run 4K.
 
The vast majority of my gaming will likely be console until the end of next year, so i'm literally just looking for the cheapest card to let me run 4k60 windows until then when I'll probably go for a completely new build
