Whilst this IS true, it doesn't feel like it when I now spend £70 instead of £40 on a fillup for the same range on a tank full. I bought a 2.2petrol instead of a diesel 406 coupe because price difference meant I would need at least 70,000 miles before the Hdi was cheaper, and that was when pertol was almost £1 a litre, now I would need even longer.
